3 AJF6’s Release Saturday
It’s a fusionrific weekend starting Saturday 3/14, when 3 color-ups of the Air Jordan Fusion VI release at House of Hoops and select Foot Locker and Footaction locations. The AJF 6 (a mix of the AF1 and Jordan VI) is releasing in a low and mid of multiple colors, whose releases were originally planned for 3/14 and 3/21, but now are going to be consolidated on 3/14. The AJF 6 mid stealth/red/graph/blk and the AJF 6 low wht/red/stealth are hitting all House of Hoops locations, and select Foot Locker stores. The AJF 6 mid wht/crt/blue is hitting House of Hoops and select Footactions. Shots of each are below, finding more detailed looks in the gallery.

Nike mid AJF 20 Dropping 12/20
The blk/stealth/red Air Jordan Fusion XX (combining AF1 and Jordan XX) hits Foot Locker on 12/20, just in time to get stuffed in your stocking.
The mostly patent leather shoe is a shrine to the Jordan legend, covered in references to his life and career. The heel of the shoe has 6 multi-colored bars, connecting a giant 123 and 456 (his six championships). This is the most often alluded to stat on the shoe, and it appears multiple times on the collage-covered lateral strap. The strap has 6 interlocking rings, a trophy with the number 6 on it, a ring with 6 on it… did I mention he won 6 championships?
The strap does have other references: 02-17-1963 (his birthday), a “55″ calling out his famous “double nickel” 55 pt. game over the Knicks, an MVPX5… I could go on, but it’s more fun to look through it yourself. Check out the gallery for more shots.
AJ Fusion 20 Mid Wht/Blk/Red
Recall the AJF20 blk/stealth/red Mid mentioned last week? Well here’s a different colorway you can cop at your local Foot Locker as of November 28, almost a month earlier than the black colorway. Between the two shoes, there aren’t many differences. You’ll find similarities in the all patent upper and toe box in addition to the detailed strap covering the middle of the shoe. What Changed on This Sample? AJF4
It happens all the time. You’re searching around for a first look at some blazing hot release, you find it, and then months later when the shoe hits stores something has changed. We want to test your sneaker knowledge and see if you can spot all the changes from sample to launch on some major kicks.
Here’s the first installment: a look at an early sample of the Air Jordan Fusion 4, in wht/v-red/blk which just dropped on 7/1. Can you find everything that changed by the time it released? Check back Monday for the answer.
Tip: you can click on the pictures for an enlarged image.
What Changed on This Sample: AJF4, The Answer
So here it is, the answer for what really changed on the released version of the Air Jordan Fusion 4, as compared to the sample we showed you. Before we give away the answer I just wanted to give a shout to everyone who was throwing out color shade differences: I hear you.
Still, that’s not the “answer” since so many minor factors can contribute to this outside of the shoe production itself (the color balance of your computer monitor, the lighting when the shoe was photographed, how long one sample sat on the designer’s windowsill in the sun… etc.)
Anyway, for the next WCOTS, know that we are focusing on more major shifts from sample to production. And also, if you join Foot Locker’s VIP program, next time you could win a $100 Gift Card for getting the answer right!! Answer after the jump.
The Differences:
1. The Swoosh: it was on the sample but not the released shoe. Some comments were that the swoosh was changed to black and still there, but as you can see from our zoom on the mesh there’s no black-on-black swoosh there.
2. The Fusion Logo Clasp: this was the tough one, but if you check closely the clasp that holds the AF1/Jumpman logo was white on the sample, and black on the release version
What Changed on This Sample: AJF 4 Stealth, The Answer
Ready for the answer? Read on to see all the differences between the sample and final shoe. Don’t forget you can pick up a pair here.
There it is, 4 major areas were changed from sample to production, and I think all of them were improvements. If you got this right, don’t forget to join the VIP program so you can be entered to win a $100 gift card next time.
1. The midsole: it was changed to grey and a visible air unit was added in the heel
2. The outsole: red hillights were added to the heel and toe
3. The stitching: red contrast stitching was used to anchor the upper to the midsole
4. The upper: a mesh patch was added (a la the Jordan IV)
Jordan Spizike Winterized Boot Black/Black at House of Hoops
The Jordan Spizike Boot, a bulked up boot version of the classic Jordan hybrid, is available now at House of Hoops locations in all black. A dark cinder version released earlier, and a flint/cherry wood is still yet to hit.
It has a smooth black leather upper contrasting the earlier dark cinder release which was nubuck. They both share textured piecing at the toe and heel to imitate the elephant print of the original Spizike. Fusion elements from the Spizike that remain are the triangular lace holders from the AJ4, the lace lock and mesh from the AJ5, and the tongue of the AJ6. More shots after the jump.
