It’s been almost thirteen years since the sneaker’s original release so make sure to pick up this retro before it’s too late. Foot Locker Donates to Children in Need
On October 2, Foot Locker joined the Fred Jordan Mission (www.fjm.org) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the annual Back-to-School Giveaway. Since the first Back-to-School Giveaway in 1988, Foot Locker has worked to provide thousands of shoes and socks to underprivileged children in Los Angeles. The area known as “Skid Row” is transformed into a huge Foot Locker store, with more than 60 Foot Locker associates on-hand to ensure that each child is custom-fitted with the perfect size shoes. Many of these children never owned a new pair of shoes, and Foot Locker has provided them with the opportunity to start the school year with fresh shoes and socks.
In the past 20 years, the Mission’s legendary Back-to-School Giveaway has transformed the lives of nearly 110,000 needy children. This year Foot Locker was able to donate over 5,000 pairs of shoes and socks to children in need. Vons grocery store added to the celebration with their own contribution of the largest cupcake cake LA has ever seen enough for each of the 5,000 children to enjoy.

Air Jordan XII Black/Red “Flu Game” Friday, 11/27
The Air Jordan XII Black/Red “Flu Game” will drop at Foot Locker on Friday 11/27.

The Black/Red Air Jordan XII came to be nicknamed the “Flu Game” because MJ was sick during game 5 of the NBA Finals on June 11, 1997. Michael carried the Bulls to a 90-88 victory over the Jazz giving them a 3-2 series lead. After racking up 38 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals, Jordan walked off the court leaning heavily on Scottie Pippen following his exhausting performance.

The original Black/Red XII had a leather upper while the new revamped version is rich suede. The “Flu Game” logo on the heel and running up the tongue features the numbers 97 and 38 representing the year and points scored in that game. In between those numbers is a sick face emblem.
