Asics Gel Lyte Speed Surface Pack

asics-gel-lyte-speed-surface-pack-5

A while back we saw the grey/red portion of Asics Surface Pack and thought that it had something to do with barbershop poles. Boy were we wrong. This is actually in homage to the surfaces runners encounter be it concrete or trails, manmade or natural. Our bad aside these are two pretty fresh runners in some extremely clean color ways. While we don’t think they were customized to perform better on either surface they are Asics so thats already covered under the Gel Lyte models technology. Via SoleRedemption

Asics Gel Kinsei Shogun

Asics Shogun

Extremely rare, only 504 pair of each color-way were created of the Gel Kinsei Shogun–360 pair of each will be available within the United States.  The inspiration for this unique pair of Asics shoes comes from the original concept of the performance running shoe which was based on the Samurai.  The mesh is reminiscent of the traditional Japanese woven textiles and the laser cutting with gold printing resembles the armor and weapons of the Japanese warrior.  You can get them now at the 34th and Time Square Foot Locker stores in New York City.  Visit the gallery for more images of the gold and red colorway.

80s Philly

Rob, DM in training
Philadelphia, PA

Don’t look now but Philly’s having some flashbacks from the 80’s. Since I was only a little boy in the 80’s I truly didn’t get to enjoy what was hot back in the day. It seems that in Philly there are two trends growing they are color pop and Old Skool. With that said, two sneaks hit me right in the face–the Asics Gel Lyte III and The Nike Air Pegasus. They are fresh and they are deep in style. You want color, you want style then these two shoes are your answer. span>

Asics Gel Lyte III – Black/Black

The Asics Gel Lyte III is one of those trusty old models that somehow comes out looking like a million bucks in nearly every color.  This new Foot Locker exclusive does more than its share to contribute to the legacy; we want these AND the next pair.

They’re all black save two reflective dots on the outside of the toe. We see textured leather, nylon and mesh, and although they’re not colorful, the contrast of fabrics helps to bring these black beauties to life.  They’ll be available exclusively at select Foot Locker stores in December. – Sneaker News

Asics Gel Lyte III – Grey/Blue

There’s just something about the way the lining extends to make something of a sock and the signature asymmetrical, split “tongue” these subtly unique design elements boost the Gel Lyte III, no matter which colors are used.  This pair is done up with textured leather and mesh in tonal greys alongside a cool blue on the Asics stripe, lining and a few other accent points.  Bring it all together and you get an icy winner.  You can find these this coming December at select Foot Locker locations. – Sneaker News

Asics Gel Lyte III – Red / Green / Blue

A third colorway of the Asics Gel Lyte III is scheduled along with the two others in tonal variations of a single color, the above make their mark with bright hues.

The upper is predominantly red, which is a red snakeskin leather on the toe, side panel, ankle and heel/rear quarter.  There’s some of the same blue we saw on those cool grey joints earlier, a nice orange for accents, and a lime green element on the side panel for an interesting palate.  These colors should be garish, but somehow they work together nicely.  You can cop all three of the Gel Lyte IIIs we’ve posted at select Foot Locker stores this coming December. – Sneaker News
