Lebron VI Akron Release
Leading the way on a big weekend of releases is the Lebron VI Akron, at House of Hoops. The shoe drops ahead of the weekend releases on Friday 3/13 (everything else hits Saturday, stay tuned for specifics). This hometown tribute has an upper detailed like an urban mural with an Akron city-scape, which is set off by a very clean white toe-box. Lebron Zoom Soldier III Akron and OSU Coming Soon to House of Hoops
Always backing his home state, Lebron James is bringing Ohio college pride to House of Hoops with the release of Akron and Ohio State versions of his Zoom Soldier III. The Zips and the Buckeyes get shoes that match up with their team colors, and have the team logo on the lateral strap. More shots of the shoes after the jump.
And on a side note, in case you were wondering what a “Zip” is, it’s short for Zippers, referencing zip-up galoshes invented by Akron’s B.F. Goodrich Company in 1923. The mascot isn’t a rubber shoe though, it’s Zippy the Kangaroo.
