Just when Michael seemingly couldn’t have gotten bigger, he went global. Barcelona would set the stage for the 1992 Olympic Games, where Michael led the original [and only!] Dream Team to a relentless beating of all who challenged, as the team won by an average of forty points without ever calling a timeout. It was back in Beaverton that Tinker Hatfield, ever a man of looking to the future, began a swift plan to remove any semblance of Nike Air visibly from the Jordan line. The VII would be the first Hatfield design to encapsulate the Air cushioning, and also failed to feature any swooshes along the upper.
